Data Centre as a Service – Industry Briefing Session

The Australian Government Information Office (AGIMO) invited organisations to attend a project update on the Data Centre as a Service (DCaaS) project.

The one-hour presentation addressed changes to the DCaaS sourcing strategy and the proposed structure of the catalogue through which products will be marketed to agencies.

IPAA ACT - Harmonised Occupational Health and Safety Legislation

Sue McCubbin, the Director of Education for Comcare and Kylie Edwards, the Training Officer for WorkSafe ACT, provided an overview of key significant changes occurring through the harmonisation of work health and safety laws. They also provided an insight into the rollout and implementation of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 from the perspective of WorkSafe ACT.

Balancing National Security and Individual Rights

In February 2012 the Office of the Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security celebrated 25 years of holding Australia's spooks to account. School Funding Forum

On Wednesday 22 February 2012 parents, teachers and the broader community came together to talk to the Australian Government about schooling.

The discussion focussed on the Review of Funding for Schooling Panel’s final report, the Australian Government’s response to it and the way forward for our schools.

During the event questions were submitted via our webchat facility and twitter to Peter Garrett, the Minister for School Education and Jacinta Collins, the Parliamentary Secretary for School Education.

Given time constraints it was not be possible to answer all questions are put forward during this event.

APS and ACT Reform Update: Moran and Hawke Reviews: Where are we now?

It has been 20 months since the release of the 'Blueprint for the Reform of Australian Government Administration'. So how has the APS gone? The Deputy Commissioner of the APSC, Carmel McGregor, provides a scorecard update of progress to date and more detail on what is still planned.

It is 9 months since the release of 'Governing the City State: one ACT Government, One ACT Public Service' and the acting ACT Commissioner for Public Administration also provided an update on the reforms therein.
