Reconciliation Action Plan

The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations is committed to reconciliation and improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the key areas of early childhood, education, training and skills, and employment and workplace relations.

As a department, we believe a commitment to reconciliation is not only the right thing to do but makes good business sense; a workforce that is respectful, understanding and inclusive of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples can more effectively respond to their specific needs.

DEEWR strives to minimise its negative impact on the environment.

We continuously improve our performance through an Environmental Management System which is in the process of being certified to the International Standard ISO 14001.

We have a clear Environmental Management Policy.

We set and pursue tangible environmental goals each year.  These are our main 2010 Environmental Goals.
