All DEEWR tenders are managed through the AusTender website at www.tenders.gov.au
You can use the Aus Tender advanced search to locate information about DEEWR tenders. Select "Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations" from the "Agency" field, enter any other criteria you wish to search on and select 'SEARCH NOW'.
Information relating to previous and current DEEWR employment and related services tenders can also be found at www.deewr.gov.au/esprocurement.
Consistent with Commonwealth Procurement Guidelines and the Commonwealth Competitive Neutrality Policy DEEWR increasingly purchases products or services designed to achieve government agreed outcomes through a commercial purchasing process rather than delivering those products or services directly. When we want an entity external to the department to deliver products or services on our behalf we enter into a contract for the purpose.
Increasing public sector reliance on private providers for the delivery of public services requires the department to ensure that contracts are developed and managed wisely to achieve maximum benefit from government expenditure. Effective contracting can improve a department's accountability in a particular activity by clarifying responsibilities, and specifying and monitoring performance standards and processes.
Your tender will be checked for completeness and basic compliance. If these requirements are met, your tender will then be assessed against the specification and rated in accordance with the selection criteria set out in the tender document, taking into account the following principles:
- Open and effective competition
- Value for money
- Enhancing the capabilities of local business and industry
- Environmental protection
- Ethical behaviour and fair dealing.
